TUCBDP Technology

Transurethral columnar balloon dilation: the mechanism explained.

A non-implant, non-thermal BPH MIST. Triple-Balloon Columnar Catheter performs controlled dilation of the prostatic urethra, achieving mechanical relief of obstruction.

TUCBDP Triple-Balloon Columnar Catheter

What is TUCBDP?

TUCBDP — Transurethral Columnar Balloon Dilation Procedure — a category III medical device indicated for LUTS caused by BPH. It uses a proprietary Triple-Balloon Columnar Catheter.

TUCBDP triple-balloon catheter — columnar balloon design

Positioning (distal)

Intravesical anchoring prevents displacement during dilation.

Columnar dilation (middle)

Uniformly expands full length of prostatic urethra.

Anchoring (proximal)

Stabilizes near the external urethral meatus.

Procedure steps

  1. Cystoscopic confirmation of prostatic urethra
  2. Triple-Balloon catheter inserted; positioning balloon inflated
  3. Dilation balloon inflated at prostatic segment to preset pressure
  4. Maintained 5-10 minutes
  5. Sequential deflation; catheter withdrawn
  6. Indwelling catheter placed (2–3 days)

vs other MIST modalities

TUCBDP represents the second-generation evolution of balloon dilation: columnar triple-balloon design with precise positioning and uniform expansion.
